Heating Oil Questions
The questions we get asked most on the phone, answered in one place.
Who delivers home heating oil in Inishowen?
Inishowen Oil Company delivers home heating oil (kerosene) across the whole Inishowen peninsula from our yard in Carndonagh, with our own tankers and our own drivers. The Kelly family has run the business since 1952.
Which towns do you deliver heating oil to?
Carndonagh, Buncrana, Moville, Malin and Malin Head, Clonmany, Ballyliffin, Culdaff, Greencastle, Quigley's Point, Muff, Burnfoot, Bridgend, Fahan, Redcastle and Gleneely, and the townlands in between. We also deliver to Letterkenny. See where we deliver.
Do you deliver heating oil to Letterkenny?
Yes. Inishowen Oil delivers home heating oil to Letterkenny and just outside it. Ring 074 93 74149 and we will confirm your delivery day.
How quickly will my oil be delivered?
Within one working day of your order. Order on a Saturday and it may go out the same day, and it will be with you on Monday at the latest.
What is the smallest and largest order?
Our smallest delivery is 150 litres and our largest is 1,000 litres, which fills a standard domestic tank.
How much does heating oil cost?
Every size from 150 to 1,000 litres has its price on the website, and that is the live price. Prices include VAT at 13.5% and there is no delivery charge, so the price you see is the price you pay. The bigger the order, the less each litre costs: see how much oil to order for the price per litre at each size.
Is there a delivery charge?
No. There is no delivery charge on home heating oil, and every price on the site already includes VAT.
How much oil should I order?
Read the gauge on your tank and order the room that is left. A standard tank holds 1,000 litres, so a half-full tank takes about 500 litres. Leave a little space rather than ordering to the brim. Our how much oil page has the full table.
How do I order?
Order online on this site, or ring 074 93 74149. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8.30am to 3.30pm, closed Sunday.
Can I use my Fuel Allowance to buy heating oil?
Yes. The Fuel Allowance is paid to you, and you can spend it on heating oil like any other money. Our Fuel Allowance page sets out the rates, who qualifies and how much oil it buys.
Do you supply agricultural or road diesel?
Yes, both, by phone only. Diesel is not sold through the website. Ring 074 93 74149 with the quantity and the delivery point and we will quote you. See farm and commercial supply.
Is kerosene the same as home heating oil?
Yes. In Ireland, home heating oil for domestic boilers and range cookers is kerosene. That is what we deliver for homes.
Do you supply gas as well?
The same family runs Northwest Gas Company for bottled and bulk LPG in Donegal, and Foyle Gas for bottled gas in Derry.
Anything else, ring 074 93 74149. Inishowen Oil Company Limited, Churchland Quarters, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal, F93 EC63.
